People get IED it is a disease that 10 million people have. It's a disease of anger.

Luke 19:37-48 NKJV

[37] Then, as He was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen, [38] saying: " 'Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the LORD!' Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!" [39] And some of the Pharisees called to Him from the crowd, "Teacher, rebuke Your disciples." [40] But He answered and said to them, "I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out." [41] Now as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it, [42] saying, "If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. Ephesians 4:26 NKJV

[26] "Be angry, and do not sin": do not let the sun go down on your wrath,

[27] nor give place to the devil.

Jesus himself got angry.

Hebrews 4:15 NKJV

[15] For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.

Luke 19:11 NKJV

[11] Now as they heard these things, He spoke another parable, because He was near Jerusalem and because they thought the kingdom of God would appear immediately.

2 Chronicles 7:14 NKJV

[14] if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

If a nation wants revival and spiritual awakening, it starts with the church.

Jesus did not come as a military, economic, political, or social Savior. He came as a spiritual Savior from sin and death.

The incarnation was for the purpose of the atonement; the birth of Jesus was so there would be the death of Jesus.

Revelation 13:8 NKJV

[8] All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

[1] "Behold, I send My messenger, And he will prepare the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, Will suddenly come to His temple, Even the Messenger of the covenant, In whom you delight. Behold, He is coming," Says the LORD of hosts.

Luke 19:38 NKJV

Romans 9:20 NKJV

[20] But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed say to him who formed it, "Why have you made me like this?"

If God didn't meet your expectations then maybe your expectations were just wrong.

A faith that can be lost is no faith at all.

Unbelief and rejection breaks Gods heart. Even of the wicked.

“He saw the city and wept over it.”

(Luke 19:41)

Luke 19:45-48 NKJV

[45] Then He went into the temple and began to drive out those who bought and sold in it, [46] saying to them, "It is written, 'My house is a house of prayer,' but you have made it a 'den of thieves.'" [47] And He was teaching daily in the temple. But the chief priests, the scribes, and the leaders of the people sought to destroy Him, [48] and were unable to do anything; for all the people were very attentive to hear Him.

This situation angered him. He cleaned out the Temple twice. Jesus did a violent thing when he over turned the table, not violent to others, but in action with the table. It was for illustration,

Mark 11:15 NKJV

[15] So they came to Jerusalem. Then Jesus went into the temple and began to drive out those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves.

Just as the temple needed to be cleansed a second time, sometimes so do we.

Jesus is also meek. Meekness is not weakness, it is power under restraint.

Isaiah 56:6-7 NKJV

[6] "Also the sons of the foreigner Who join themselves to the LORD, to serve Him, And to love the name of the LORD, to be His servants- Everyone who keeps from defiling the Sabbath, And holds fast My covenant- [7] Even them I will bring to My holy mountain, And make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices Will be accepted on My altar; For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations."

The church is a hospital for sinners, not a museum for saints!

When a church or Christian keeps a person away, that makes Jesus angry.

Are you a stepping stone to Christ or a stumbling stone. Are you a bridge or are you a barrier to Christ?

1 John 1:8-9 NKJV

[8] If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness

You don't need to clean up your life to go to Christ, you need to go to Christ to clean up your life.

Acts 5 and 11 Two Stories of Ananias

Bad company corrupts good morals.

Before he was a Christian he had his own world view. Smoking pot, selling pot and stealing was part of Pancho's life.

When he became a Christian he got a new world view.

When you violate Gods word based on economics., it's not a reason.

We are all always being influenced.

1 Corinthians 5:1-5 NKJV

[1] It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and such sexual immorality as is not even named among the Gentiles-that a man has his father's wife! [2] And you are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he who has done this deed might be taken away from among you. [3] For I indeed, as absent in body but present in spirit, have already judged (as though I were present) him who has so done this deed. [4] In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when you are gathered together, along with my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, [5] deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

Acts 5:1-4 NKJV

[2] And he kept back part of the proceeds, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a certain part and laid it at the apostles' feet. [3] But Peter said, "Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself? [4] While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God."

20 Gifts are throughout the bible: ie, gifts of help, gift of discernment etc. All Christians have a gift of some kind.

Peter has the gift of wisdom, he knew how to discern the truth of what was going on around him.

2 Kings 5:1-27 NKJV

[1] Now Naaman, commander of the army of the king of Syria, was a great and honorable man in the eyes of his master, because by him the LORD had given victory to Syria. He was also a mighty man of valor, but a leper. [2] And the Syrians had gone out on raids, and had brought back captive a young girl from the land of Israel. She waited on Naaman's wife. [3] Then she said to her mistress, "If only my master were with the prophet who is in Samaria! For he would heal him of his leprosy." [4] And Naaman went in and told his master, saying, "Thus and thus said the girl who is from the land of Israel." [5] Then the king of Syria said, "Go now, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel." So he departed and took with him ten talents of silver, six thousand shekels of gold, and ten changes of clothing. [6] Then he brought the letter to the king of Israel, which said, Now be advised, when this letter comes to you, that I have sent Naaman my servant to you, that you may heal him of his leprosy. [7] And it happened, when the king of Israel read the letter, that he tore his clothes and said, "Am I God, to kill and make alive, that this man sends a man to me to heal him of his leprosy? Therefore please consider, and see how he seeks a quarrel with me." [8] So it was, when Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had torn his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, "Why have you torn your clothes? Please let him come to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel." [9] Then Naaman went with his horses and chariot, and he stood at the door of Elisha's house. [10] And Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, "Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall be restored to you, and you shall be clean." [11] But Naaman became furious, and went away and said, "Indeed, I said to myself, 'He will surely come out to me, and stand and call on the name of the LORD his God, and wave his hand over the place, and heal the leprosy.' [12] Are not the Abanah and the Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Could I not wash in them and be clean?" So he turned and went away in a rage. [13] And his servants came near and spoke to him, and said, "My father, if the prophet had told you to do something great, would you not have done it? How much more then, when he says to you, 'Wash, and be clean'?" [14] So he went down and dipped seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean. [15] And he returned to the man of God, he and all his aides, and came and stood before him; and he said, "Indeed, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, except in Israel; now therefore, please take a gift from your servant." [16] But he said, "As the LORD lives, before whom I stand, I will receive nothing." And he urged him to take it, but he refused. [17] So Naaman said, "Then, if not, please let your servant be given two mule-loads of earth; for your servant will no longer offer either burnt offering or sacrifice to other gods, but to the LORD. [18] Yet in this thing may the LORD pardon your servant: when my master goes into the temple of Rimmon to worship there, and he leans on my hand, and I bow down in the temple of Rimmon-when I bow down in the temple of Rimmon, may the LORD please pardon your servant in this thing." [20] But Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, "Look, my master has spared Naaman this Syrian, while not receiving from his hands what he brought; but as the LORD lives, I will run after him and take something from him." [21] So Gehazi pursued Naaman. When Naaman saw him running after him, he got down from the chariot to meet him, and said, "Is all well?" [22] And he said, "All is well. My master has sent me, saying, 'Indeed, just now two young men of the sons of the prophets have come to me from the mountains of Ephraim. Please give them a talent of silver and two changes of garments.'" [23] So Naaman said, "Please, take two talents." And he urged him, and bound two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of garments, and handed them to two of his servants; and they carried them on ahead of him. Elisha said to him, "Where did you go, Gehazi?" And he said, "Your servant did not go anywhere." Is it time to receive money and to receive clothing, olive groves and vineyards, sheep and oxen, male and female servants? [27] Therefore the leprosy of Naaman shall cling to you and your descendants forever." And he went out from his presence leprous, as white as snow.

Acts 5:5-6 NKJV

[5] Then Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and breathed his last. So great fear came upon all those who heard these things. [6] And the young men arose and wrapped him up, carried him out, and buried him.

"The fear of God is the beginning of knowledge."

Acts 5:7-11 NKJV

[7] Now it was about three hours later when his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. [8] And Peter answered her, "Tell me whether you sold the land for so much?" She said, "Yes, for so much." [9] Then Peter said to her, "How is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Look, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out." [10] Then immediately she fell down at his feet and breathed her last. And the young men came in and found her dead, and carrying her out, buried her by her husband. [11] So great fear came upon all the church and upon all who heard these things.

Satan had entered the heart of this man.

The will of men, can keep us from doing many things. Such as apologize or ask for forgiveness.

Acts 13:9-10 NKJV

[9] Then Saul, who also is called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at him [10] and said, "O full of all deceit and all fraud, you son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease perverting the straight ways of the Lord?

John 8:44 NKJV

[44] You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.

Study the Bible, study about Satan because you need to know our enemy. We need to know about his tools and his weapons.

2 Corinthians 4:4 NKJV

[4] whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

Only through the word of God will you find the conviction.

1 Thessalonians 2:18 NKJV

[18] Therefore we wanted to come to you-even I, Paul, time and again-but Satan hindered us.

Revelation 12:9-10 NKJV

[9] So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. [10] Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, "Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.

The past can become a bully and can paralyze you.

Satan can use, fear, death, grief, greed, unconfessed sin etc. these are all his weapons.

Acts 9:1-9 NKJV

[6] So he, trembling and astonished, said, "Lord, what do You want me to do?" Then the Lord said to him, "Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do." [7] And the men who journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice but seeing no one. [8] Then Saul arose from the ground, and when his eyes were opened he saw no one. But they led him by the hand and brought him into Damascus. [9] And he was three days without sight, and neither ate nor drank.

Acts 9:10-14 NKJV

[10] Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananias; and to him the Lord said in a vision, "Ananias." And he said, "Here I am, Lord." [11] So the Lord said to him, "Arise and go to the street called Straight, and inquire at the house of Judas for one called Saul of Tarsus, for behold, he is praying. [12] And in a vision he has seen a man named Ananias coming in and putting his hand on him, so that he might receive his sight." [13] Then Ananias answered, "Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much harm he has done to Your saints in Jerusalem. [14] And here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on Your name."

Acts 22:12 NKJV

[12] "Then a certain Ananias, a devout man according to the law, having a good testimony with all the Jews who dwelt there,

1 Peter 3:10-12 NKJV

[10] For " He who would love life And see good days, Let him refrain his tongue from evil, And his lips from speaking deceit. [11] Let him turn away from evil and do good; Let him seek peace and pursue it. [12] For the eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their prayers; But the face of the LORD is against those who do evil."

Luke 5:12-16 (NKJV)

And it happened when He was in a certain city, that behold, a man who was full of leprosy saw Jesus; and he fell on his face and implored Him, saying, "Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean." [13] Then He put out His hand and touched him, saying, "I am willing; be cleansed." Immediately the leprosy left him. [14] And He charged him to tell no one, "But go and show yourself to the priest, and make an offering for your cleansing, as a testimony to them, just as Moses commanded." [15] However, the report went around concerning Him all the more; and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by Him of their infirmities. [16] So He Himself often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed.

1. Leprosy had an insignificant beginning.

(Hansens Disease - shuts down your ability to feel anything. So you could burn yourself, or loose limbs and not feel it.)

Leprosy is a lot like sign, very little sins, just like very little changes in a leper.

"Sin is pleasurable for a time, then fills with a lifetime of regret."

A few moments of passion can lead to a lifetime of regret.

2. Leprosy worked almost imperceptibly. (Don't really notice it at first)

3. Leprosy spread quickly.

4. Leprosy was infectious.

That is why there are leper colonies.

This is why the bible says not to be unequally yolked with other believers or nonbelievers.

It's a lot easier for a nonbeliever to pull a believer down, then to pull a nonbeliever up.

1 Corinthians 15:33 (NKJV)

Do not be deceived: "Evil company corrupts good habits."

5. Leprosy was a state of living death.

1 Timothy 4:2 (NKJV)

speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron,

In an advanced state of sin, you don't even notice it anymore

6. Leprosy was incurable.

1. This leper had an honest awareness of his condition.

(v.12)

"Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean."

Our place is to ask; His place is to answer as He chooses.

Seeing ourselves for who we are is the first step to becoming who we need to be, a new creation in Christ!

2. Jesus will touch those who come to Him reverently and in desperation.

(v.12) And it happened when He was in a certain city, that behold, a man who was full of leprosy saw Jesus; and he fell on his face

3. The third factor in receiving Jesus’ touch is having active faith.

(v.12) and he fell on his face and implored Him, saying

Sin controls people through two opposing lies:

1. We are not sinners.

2. We are sinners, but we are so bad we are beyond help.

“Then He put out His hand and touched him.”

(v. 13)Luke 5:13 (NKJV)

Then He put out His hand and touched him, saying, "I am willing; be cleansed." Immediately the leprosy left him.

[19] And when they could not find how they might bring him in, because of the crowd, they went up on the housetop and let him down with his bed through the tiling into the midst before Jesus. [20] When He saw their faith, He said to him, "Man, your sins are forgiven you." [21] And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, "Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?" [22] But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, He answered and said to them, "Why are you reasoning in your hearts? [23] Which is easier, to say, 'Your sins are forgiven you,' or to say, 'Rise up and walk'? [24] But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins"-He said to the man who was paralyzed, "I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house." [25] Immediately he rose up before them, took up what he had been lying on, and departed to his own house, glorifying God. [26] And they were all amazed, and they glorified God and were filled with fear, saying, "We have seen strange things today!"

These guys did what it took to get their friend to Jesus. You will always find opposition in bringing your friends to Jesus. (v19) "And when they could not find how they might bring him in, because of the crowd, they went up on the housetop and let him down with his bed through the tiling into the midst before Jesus."

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10,12 (NKJV)

Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor. [10] For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, For he has no one to help him up. [12] Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

It’s not always easy to bring people to Jesus.

Mark 9:20 (NKJV)

Then they brought him to Him. And when he saw Him, immediately the spirit convulsed him, and he fell on the ground and wallowed, foaming at the mouth.

Luke 5:19 (NKJV)

And when they could not find how they might bring him in, because of the crowd, they went up on the housetop and let him down with his bed through the tiling into the midst before Jesus.

Luke 5:20 (NKJV)

When He saw their faith, He said to him, "Man, your sins are forgiven you."

Jesus' word does not go out and return void.

Luke 5:21 (NKJV)

And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, "Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?"

Having your sins forgiven is the most important thing!
